De parkeersensoren zijn de eenvoudige oplossing om correct achteruit te rijden . Ze verminderen het risico op aanrijdingen met mensen of voorwerpen die zich buiten het zicht van de bestuurder bevinden (lage muren, leuningen of zelfs kleine kinderen). De sensoren zijn verzonken in de achterbumper gemonteerd, zodat ze de esthetiek van het voertuig niet bederven . Met behulp van ultrasone golven berekenen de sensoren de afstand tussen het voertuig en het mogelijke obstakel. Een akoestisch signaal via de luidspreker of een indicator op het infotainmentscherm houdt de bestuurder op de hoogte van hoeveel ruimte er achter het voertuig is. Terwijl de parkeersensoren de perfecte hulp zijn bij het achteruitrijden of manoeuvreren, wordt de bestuurder echter geenszins ontheven van de verantwoordelijkheid om het voertuig te allen tijde onder controle te houden. Alvorens achteruit te rijden, moet de bestuurder controleren of er zich geen kleine obstakels achter het voertuig bevinden (bijv. rotsen, smalle pilaren, trekhaken voor aanhangers, enz.). Dit type obstakel kan buiten het bewaakte gebied liggen. Richt bij het wassen van de auto met water onder druk het mondstuk van de hogedrukreiniger nooit op de sensoren in de achterbumper.
